Hi Dr. Berg,
I should not describe myself as lucky to have seen your video about weight loss because the credit should be totally laid on your effort and high recognition which induces your video to my feed! So, the world is lucky to have you making such a tremendous effort to explain the low-carb diet and knowledge sharing.
Just wonder how many fans of you are from Hong Kong, hoping that I'm not the only one. Long story short, I first tried keto in July 2017 when I was 41 years old male, 180cm in height, and weighed 200 pounds.
I lost 30 pounds to 170 pounds and reduced 6 inches (41” to 35”) in waist in 5 months. I was satisfied with the result although I'm not 100% sure if the way I did is “healthy keto” which required a lot of nutrients knowledge to tackle each of the minor issues. So far I was fine after 5 months of keto practice. As such, I stopped full keto practice and turned into a low-carb diet in November 2017 by including rice in meals only for dinner. I kept eating carbohydrates for breakfast and lunch. The main reason for stopping is that keto practice is not convenient during social interaction like quick office lunch and dinner parties and all other friends gathering. And I was worried about the balance of nutrition - Would a human body be absolutely fine without carbohydrates??
Does keto result from my body in the absence of storage of “energy” since I'm burning fat but not storing them at all. It feels like you are always driving a car with a minimal amount of petrol just enough for 1 day of travel and after finishing all petrol you are not functioning! I still cannot explain this to satisfy myself to fully practice Keto.
Can you help me with this? From November 2021 onward, I guess I have not been low a carb diet enough and have gained back to 190 pounds after 4 years. In fact, I am now more worried about having fatty liver and insulin resistance which could end up having Type 2 diabetes because I have a 41” waist again. Therefore, I started keto again on 21 August 2021 and I have lost 10 pounds so far as of today after 15 days. This time I am going to practice for 1 year healthily. Please reply.
