Type 1 diabetic and low carb
By: Jordan Martin
Hello Dr. Berg. I have had type 1 diabetes for 21 years, I'm 26 years old. I have had a usual HBA1C result of between 7-7.8 (not good but not terrible) I have tried the keto diet and have been obsessed with it. I have found it to hard to have no carbs and keep my sugar levels from going low. So I have improvised and now when levels are low, the only time I eat carbs (organic manuka honey) is to my levels back to where I want to be. I was 102kg and not interested in loosing weight but more interested just to feel as good as possible. My Hba1c test is now 6.1 and i weigh 94kg. I am absolutely thriving. I eat twice a day and fast between 14-18 hours and I am not hungry. I have lost belly fat. I didn't have much already. I take nutritional yeast for the B1 because diabetes can cause deficiency. I really feel I am the best I have ever felt. All thanks to low carbs and less eating. I am so excited, I am only 26 and I can live the rest of my days knowing your information. Honestly from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you!
