Thyroid health and no more hot flashes
By: Julie
I've been doing my best trying to follow Dr. Berg's eating plan for the past year. I recently entered menopause and have had hypothyroidism for the past 20 years.
A few years ago, my doctor increased my thyroid medication from 15 mg to 30 mg. After seeing various improvements in my health and by making a few changes that Dr. Berg suggested, I thought it would make it a health goal to see if I could stop taking thyroid medication with my doctor's help. During my annual physical, I had her measure my iodine and selenium to make sure I was taking enough to support my thyroid. I had been working all year to improve my liver health through intermittent fasting and eating primarily healthy keto.
Today, I got my results. I'm happy to say that my doctor thinks I am in a healthy range to stop my thyroid medications. I'll go in for a follow-up in a few months to make sure but I'm so happy with the improvement! The liver panel was excellent as well. By the way, inositol has been a game-changer for my sleep since I no longer have hot flashes during any part of the day. What a huge blessing! I had never heard of it until I stumbled upon a video where Dr. Berg talked about its benefits. Hallelujah!!
