Prickly Heat, Heat Rash, Miliaria.

Story

By: Kevin Erickson

About six months ago, I suddenly developed a heat rash at the age of 45. It was very clear after searching the internet, that my symptoms fit the description of "Prickly Heat" or Miliaria. The condition is described as blocked sweat ducts, preventing the ability to sweat. With no sweat, there is a risk of overheating to a dangerous level. Any time I would normally sweat, I would instead develop a very itchy rash that would turn into many sweat blisters under the skin, but no sweat would make its way to the surface. Once in a cool environment with no physical activity, the skin would return to normal within an hour.

Further internet searches came up with one common fix, don't sweat. Avoid heat, avoid physical activity, or move to a colder climate. None of these suggestions addressed the root cause of the problem, why couldn't I sweat? My Dad, another long-time Dr. Berg follower, told me about blending the whole lemon and said it made his skin feel better. He gave me three lemons and I blended one per day. By day three I noticed I was sweating, something I hadn't done in six months! I have continued to blend one whole lemon per day, 10 days total so far, and I am sweating normally with no prickly rash. I have tested my ability to sweat with fast-paced activity, in direct sun, in a hot humid climate. I have never been so happy to sweat. Amazing results for a very debilitating problem as an active person. The blended lemons are delicious and are now part of my daily routine. Thank you for the advice, and please pass along my story as I know many others are struggling with heat rash.
