My journey with weight loss
By: Linda Murray
In 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and after chemo/radiation, I had to lose weight. I was 213 lbs on a med frame 5'5" body. I was up and down like the yoyo. I was always slim and worked out most of my life.
After cancer, I joined metabolic research and lost 72lbs. I kept most of it off, but after getting married in 2016, selling a home and moving from CO. To Texas, and buying a home. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, caused by a pill called tamoxifen. Chemo and pre-meds like steroids. My weight went up again. No radiation because my body kept rejecting the chemo.
I spent a lot of time in the hospital. I went up to 204 and have been struggling with the weight. In 2019, I had a heart attack. More meds and now I'm on 10 different medications a day. I'm almost 70 now and trying to lose weight. I decided to try keto, and so far after a month, I lost 6 lbs, but I'm still up and down. I have to feed my husband and he's Mr. Skinny, 6'1, and 155lbs, eats anything, so it's really hard for me. I don't have a lot of money being retired and we live on social security and his military disability.
I'm always on YouTube looking at your videos Dr. Berg and others for advice and recipes. I try to keep grocery shopping on a budget. Any more advice is received gratefully. I want to see my granddaughters grow up they're both 9 and almost 6.
