Muscular Dystrophy is no exception

My name is Marilee. I am 75 years old, living in Idaho. Muscular Dystrophy has removed my exercise ability, but beginning a keto diet with intermittent fasting has given me the ability to lose 30 pounds in three and a half months. Sticking to the plan works -- even without exercise. I had given up hope that I could shed the 50 extra pounds that have accumulated over the years. Thirty down, twenty to go. And I will get there! I have given up the carbs and all sugars, because that makes all the difference. No cravings. I generally eat once or twice a day (lunch and early dinner). I used to snack, not knowing about the insulin kick it was bringing to my body, and resulting weight gain. If I had only known this earlier! Now no snacking and I don't miss it because it is so satisfying to watch my shrinking body. I used to hate the bathroom scales. Now it is my greatest encouragement! This is the only diet plan that has worked for me. I am so thankful to have been pointed in this direction, even at this late stage in life. My biggest challenge when I began was learning to be patient through the process, as I was used to losing weight much more quickly when I was younger. I listen to Dr. Berg's videos on a daily basis for reminders and to learn more about how the body works. It's all good!
