Keto works great!

Story

By: James Worby

I am a 75-year-old man with a defibrillator installed in 2018 to replace a pacemaker installed two years earlier. About 20 months ago I purchased an ebike and have ridden about 3700 miles, but no weight loss. A month ago I started experimenting with Keto concepts and have lost 10 pounds. I feel so much better, my brain fog is lifting and my energy level is balanced and strong. I visited my cardiology doc yesterday and shared my experiences with him. He seemed delighted to hear my story and I suggested that he take a look at your videos. His nurse had lost 7 pounds over the past month with Keto! In August I'll get an ultrasound on my heart and I'll have them examine my liver as well. My goal is to lose at least another 10 pounds while exercising to get the body I had at age 55. I start my day with 2 eggs, Ezekiel bread (toast) with butter, and coffee with real cream. The next (and last meal of the day) is dinner which is usually protein, vegetables and, if needed, peanut butter and celery. I find that this amount of fat (peanut butter) keeps me from snacking at night. I still have a slight craving for carbs but it is surprisingly manageable. I do enjoy my weekly hamburger with a bun, but nothing else. When I first started the diet I was snacking on dry roasted peanuts at night, just as I have for over 40 years. My thoughts were that the fat wouldn't impact my system, but I wasn't fully aware of the impact of insulin. My insulin level has been high for over 30 years and my medical profile has shown me to be pre-diabetic for at least 5 years. LDL/HDL levels were out of balance and most other indicators were not desirable. So, I am eager to see what changes will be reflected in future blood tests and the August ultrasound. I have labs that go back to 2011 so I can easily compare my progress according to standard measures. I miss the snacks and ice cream and the many food options provided by carbs, but my goals are more important than temporary pleasures I get from carbs! I watch a couple of your YouTube episodes every day to stay in touch with your findings and keep0 myself motivated. Thank you so much for sharing what you do. I believe it has improved my life immensely!
