Keto Success for my 60th Birthday
By: Dave White
This is more of a mid journey story. After a long year recovering from COVID-19 I jumped on the scale and was shocked to see the number 376.7. Most I've ever been. I was eating way to much cereal with ice cream for breakfast with m and ms or chips before lunch and lunch was usually a sub, many dinners were healthy but many were pizza or Chinese food, and it seemed like I was hungry all the time. So Jan 5 I decided to do something about it since my 60th birthday was coming up in May. I started with low carbs because that’s what I knew I also decided to completely cut out snacks, even healthy ones.. The first 3 weeks saw a steady weight loss, but also during this time I was watching a lot of you tube videos health. I came across DR Berg and was intrigued. I watched a lot of KETO video and switched to KETO on Feb 1st. I followed a lot of Dr Berg videos almost everyday to keep motivated. My key takeaways were 5-7 servings vegetables a day and intermittent fasting. I have NO goals, well I mean I set short attainable goals that are a week or so out. My first big goal, I set in mid April was to be down 60 by my 60th birthday on May 6. I hit that goal on May 1st!! So I keep setting small ones as I go along Down 70 for June 1st is up next. The foods I eat are a lot of fish and seafood, Farm Eggs riced cauliflower and daily organic sauerkraut. I don’t eat any snacks, or anything that reminds me of my bad habits, so NO keto cookies chocolates or keto pizzas. I don’t test for Ketosis but I have 0 cravings or hunger. As of today I’m down 65 lbs and feel great!
