It took five more months and another picture to finally motivate me to do something about my 240 pound weight.

"My story is a little bit different. The picture on the left is me at an amusement park back in July of 2015. I remember pressing myself against the back of the bench and trying to suck in that gut for the picture. It took five more months and another picture to finally motivate me to do something about my 240 pound weight. I started walking, just a little bit at first and a little bit more every day. I had no weight goal in mind. All I wanted was to be more active today than I was yesterday. And it worked for the first two years. I steadily slid from 240 down to 180 without changing a single thing about the way I ate. And then I got stuck, spending all of 2018 between 175 and 180. A co-worker introduced me to intermittent fasting and the LCHF WOE (low carb high fat way of eating) and today I am now down to 166 for the first time in who knows how many decades, probably since high school. I do a lot of OMAD days now, have done a 48 hour fast and am currently in maintenance mode. I'm not strict keto nor do I live by a rigid IF plan but I'm down where I have wanted to be and I feel great. My point is simply this, I don't believe in the silver bullet. There isn't just one single thing that exists to get us to our goals. I believe in the silver BBs that plink away at the target until we get there. Mix and match diet, exercise and eating habits in a way that works for you and you'll get there. All you have to do is start trying and do a little more tomorrow."
