Hello Dr. Berg,
I started my Keto self experiment in April of 2022.
Initially, I read about the keto diet and followed a food list I had found online. Within a few weeks, I was feeling noticeable results in my energy level and I felt well rested for the first time in a long time. I continued to do more Keto research and stumbled upon your videos and have not looked back since!
I am 38 years old and weighed 273 lbs before I started keto. As of March 2023, I weigh 181 lbs. I work out 2 to 3 days a week and take regular walks with my dog. I have always been heavy with the exception of a period in my late teens and early 20's where I was working out for 2 hrs a day for 4 to 5 days a week and eating a 'traditional' North American diet. I got down to 187 lbs from about 280 lbs at that time.
I was lean and muscular, but I was exhausted and never really had time for anything else besides the gym, school and work. Now I feel like I am 20 again. I exercise (calisthenics) 2 to 3 days a week where I do 8 exercises for 1 set to absolute failure. I sleep well, feel energized, have more focus and generally just feel good. Keto and calisthenics have really simplified my life and given me more time for leisure and also greatly improved my health. If I can do it, anyone can! You deserve to be healthy!
