Great info makes all the difference

Hey Doc.
Thought I would drop you a note to say thank you. You don’t know me but your videos have made a large impact on my health and I thought it only fair to pass on the good news. Like many of your viewers, my family doctor used terms like fatty liver, pre-diabetic, intestinal leakage as well as DVT in my legs, and my ankle, knee, and hip pain was getting very uncomfortable.
I was exercising 3-4 times a week and getting 16,00 to 18,000 steps per day and had tried to diet to get on top of an ever-increasing weight problem. I was adding 3-4 LB per year from the time I was 35 until today. I am 57 and have been listening to the Canadian food guide and nutritionists talking about calories in and calories out all my life.
On Nov. 1, 2020, I finally got fed up with feeling like crap, my weight was 283 and at 5’10” that gave me a BMI of 40. I had a 44” pant size and was down to 1000 calories per day and still gaining weight. My work performance was also suffering as I was getting very tired after lunch and was having problems concentrating on my work.
I started to search all the above terms from my Doc trying to figure out what I could do about my health. I came across your videos and a couple of others that were eye-opening. Insulin control really is the key. I have been doing keto for one year now trying to stay below 20 grams of carbs per day, with no sugar and no grains.
My doctor was shocked by my results. I have managed to maintain the exercise for the past year and after my first year, I am down to 198 and am down to 32” pant size. Doc says no signs of fatty liver. DVTs and clotting are not an issue at all any longer and I had to stop 81 mg aspirin very early on. My thinking has recovered and within a couple of weeks of starting keto, getting tired after lunch is no longer an issue.
Early on, I stopped eating breakfast and went to lunch and dinner only. A month or so ago, I started skipping lunch on Tue and Fri and have been amazed by how fast the excess skin is vanishing as well. The original goal for weight loss when I began this lifestyle was 180 and I never thought that would happen but as it gets closer, I am wondering where I go from here. Should I consider adding some extra carbs back into my diet or just continue on course with the diet I have been eating for the last year?
Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Mike
