Getting back on track!
By: Utku Oren
I've been involved in sports and generally an active lifestyle since I was a child. I rarely weighed above 80kgs in my life. This has changed when a second divorce combined with pandemic-related lockdowns resulted in depression and a sedentary lifestyle. I'm talking about ordering burgers, fast food, profiteroles, oreo ice cream, magnolias nearly every day and consuming them in their full quantity, especially for dinner. Also, some drinking was involved.
I started gaining weight in May 2020 and ended up reaching 99kg in August 2021. I've discovered Dr. Berg's videos about Healthy Keto in May 2021. I was able to sort things out mentally around mid-December 2021.
I started with IF + Healthy KETO + no to very little and infrequent consumption of Alcohol (dry wine and scotch) combined with exercise (bodyweight+weightlifting (freeletics)+running(Huawei health app)). 15 weeks later I have lost 15 kgs. I ran a half-marathon and a marathon. I recently got my yearly blood test results. My insulin count has declined from 13.3 mU/L (highest measured) to 2.75 mU/L from 1 year ago. Insulin Resistance Index (HOMA-IR) is measured at 0.51. I'm super energetic and very happy with the results.
I have never been this confident and my losing weight definitely has contributed to it. Finally, I'm grateful to have such a comprehensive archive of videos from Dr. Berg that is addressing pretty much every small detail.
A small note: My Neutrophil (1.76) and Monocyte (0.32) counts are lower than normal and my RDW-SD measurement is higher than normal at 45.6. If Dr. Berg can provide any comments or advice regarding these I'd really appreciate it.
