Story

By: Sondra Polk

5+ years ago, right around October 2016, my sister of 58, suffered a sudden heart attack resulting from smoking, drugs, and eating any and everything she wanted. I woke up and decided to change my eating habits. I was never a smoker, drinker, or drug user, however, this still scared me into rethinking my heath since I was turning 60 soon.

Note: I am a small framed 112lb woman. Never any health issues. Not overweight at all. I have been subject to kidney stones in 2012, severe nose bleeds as a child; and high cholesterol in 2015. I had no clue as to what to do or how to start changing my eating habits.

By nature, I am a researcher of everything. Mind you, I was not someone to exercise, however, I did a little aerobics at home. (hip-hop abs). I will tell you just cutting out the wheat and sugar, in 2 months I instantly lost 2 sizes, which scared me, as I was already skinny. I kid you not, the sugar and western world wheat is detrimental to our health.

I started making bread, and anything else I could think of. I also learned about ancient grains from Sebi. So all I consume now is Spelt, Kamut, amaranth, only wild rice and garbanzo beans (pressure cooked) There are a few things about Sebi teaching, that science has since changed regarding) oils, eggs, all of which he was against) He developed a Sebi food guide, which is still online today then I stumbled on Dr. Berg

.

To sum it all up, I am now 64 and just had a physical-I seem to be doing fine, which some concerns: My- iron, D, and B12 are good, and artery blood flow- is very good. minor bone density concern. I did not take any Covid shots, I consume fresh Ginger if I feel a cold, sneezing, etc. coming on. There are still things I want to check out, but I am not sure where or how to check, like ( my vitamins, and mineral levels overall) and I am not certain my arteries have been thoroughly checked because I am concerned with plaque build-up.

I am so glad that Dr. Berg has started to devote his channel to bringing more health nutrition facts. So now I have another great source of information. I am still learning and searching. When I told my physician that I was on a plant-based diet, the first thing she asked, was where I was getting my protein. I told her, I get it from the plants I eat. She said to me, that there are Pea powders that are good for protein. I did not even respond to that. It is sad. So everyone needs to understand this and get educated by reputable science.
