Diabetes, Keto, then prostate cancer
By: Benno Vyfvinkel
Type II for decades with sloppy control of A1C (6.5-7.2) approved of by the doctor.
With pre-keto, there was an attempt at diet improvement with some success. I was overweight for decades. Nov 2020 I found Dr. Berg on youtube and lost 25 lbs in 3 months along with mini fasting while enjoying marvelous energy and craving control.
Back to 2018, had an enlarged (read cancer!) prostate; managed until Jan 2020 and was refused surgery due to a misnamed epidemic. Surgery in April 2021 discovered the problem with aggressiveness of 8/10 and spread to the bones. PSA of .5 jumping to 4.4 did not alarm my doctor but a test of 12 after the fact did . Stricter glucose since then has lowered my PSA to 0.25 recently, but my glucose would not drop even when fasting 3 days (145)!! I have a busy liver! Went back on Metformin, working up to 2000mg/day not uneventfully. Even now my glucose is a mess and I see no help anywhere.
