I contracted covid recently and after a weekend of fever, and night sweats, I couldn't taste or smell anything although my sinuses were clear and I could breathe through my nose. After a friend showed me a video Dr. Berg created about how being Zinc deficient causes taste and smell to diminish, I immediately started a course of 1,000mg of Quercetin (ionophor), 100mg of Zinc Copper, and 10,000ui of Vitamin D twice a day for the next 4-5 days. No lie, in 2 days I was starting to smell and taste again. I've known people who couldn't taste for months after contracting covid, so I stand be Dr. Berg's knowledge.
