A1C from 10.3 down to 5.9
By: Eric Montoya
In October of 2020, I found out that I was a diabetic and my A1C was 10.3. The doctor prescribed insulin shots and Metformin. When I found out that I was a diabetic, I didn't know what to eat for the first two weeks, and my doctor said I could eat around 100 carbs a day. Also, exercise is recommended to help lower blood sugar.
However, I had a torn tendon in my ankle so exercise was not available to me. Once I followed your and MD Ken D Berry's advice on what foods I could eat, literally the next day my blood sugar was normal. From that point on, my blood sugar was normal.
Then in February 2021, I had my A1C checked again, it dropped from 10.3 to 6.5 without exercise, taking any Metformin, and not taking my insulin shots. August of 2021 comes around to check my A1C again, and it dropped from 6.5 to 5.9. I don't need to take any medication for diabetes, and I accomplish this without any meds and no exercise. I was able to accomplish this just by eating the right foods. I thank you very much and I truly appreciate all you do for people with diabetes.
