Dave/Fort Simpson NWT, Canada, 43. I had a cycling accident that shattered out 6” of my left arm above the elbow that over the last 4 years has required 4 major revisions and a fusion surgery to fix. Diet was carb heavy, sometimes 1000g/day, and I was off my feet. I ended up prediabetic with a glucose impairment at 403.3 lb (October 31, 2020 elbow fusion weigh in.) I returned home from the last elbow surgery in late December 2020 and began a keto diet with a 20g net carb target, and OMAD intermittent fasting, drawing heavily in Dr. Berg’s youtube videos.. In Mid January 2021, I weighed in at admitting for a cataract surgery at 387.1 lb. In mid February 2021, I weighed in for a great toe amputation at 355.1, and I’ve been tracking the losses ever since. My own scale now reads 280.0. I’ve found a site of decent keto recipes that my husband really likes, and even on the road I find the diet an easy one to shop for. Steak and salad doesn’t suck in any situation. Once I dried out from the carbs I started feeling better. Things started healing again, and all the swelling came down everywhere. I noticed my brain function improve, and bone growth in the fused elbow started taking off. I’m 50 lb from my target and feeling amazing.
