Victorious comeback from multiple strokes

Story

By: Keith Mills

Twenty years ago in May of 2001, at the ripe old age of 38, I was struck down with a TIA Stroke. I lost motor skills on my entire right side. I could no longer speak well as the right side of my face was severely affected. It was very difficult to stand or to walk. I’m right handed so suddenly I couldn’t write my name. Or much of anything else. I suffered more TIA strokes in 2007, and again on my right side. I came really close to passing away in 2013 at the age of 50. I was very athletic and active in sports and the gym. I had never smoked or been a heavy drinker. I was married with a lot of kids (6). What was wrong then you may ask? At least a part of what needed an adjustment was…… MY DIET!

I had been raised from a little boy on a steady diet of sugars, carbs, refined foods, fried foods, and fast foods. I grazed on foods and snacks all day long. Breakfast then a snack, then lunch and then a snack then dinner and a bedtime snack.

Solution: Keto diet and Intermittent fasting. I tried to avoid all sugars, fried foods, processed foods, and fast foods every day. I tried to intermittent fast with one meal a day and one healthy snack. I eat in a 4-hour eating window and fast for 20. I tried to avoid any and all bread type products. I used to LOVE bread by the way. I used to love sweets. Not anymore.

I’m now 59 and feel like I’m in my 20’s again. I’m still very active in the gym. I’ve gotten back ALL of the motor skills I lost on my right side. My ability to speak has returned. If you didn’t know my prior health history, I don’t think you could tell that I was EVER so sick. People like Dr. Berg have been a real blessing in my life! Thank you Dr Berg! I hope to meet you one day and thank you personally! Mr. Keith Mills, Director of Charis World Foundation
