Progress in baby steps
By: Ashish Reddy
Greetings from India, Dr. Berg. I am a 26 year old male. I had been obese since my childhood days. By the age of 23 around the time I graduated (2018) I weighted around 300 lbs. Predominately eating junk, consuming alcohol, a heavy smoker and without being said zero physical activity. Spent most of my time gaming on console or pc. I happen to have history of kidney stones, migraine, lower back pain, diffused fatty liver, duodenal (stomach) ulcer, eczema, and gout in the past. During the pandemic I was drawn toward the Dr berg youtube channel. Today as of June 2021, I weigh about 220 lbs. I have completely cut down on sugars. I often do consume carbs(brown rice). I find keto diet to be really expensive burns a hole through my pocket. I haven't been completely on a keto diet. But I try as much as possible. I restrict myself to home cooked vegetarian food now along with eggs and dairy. Completely stopped junk food/eating outside. Alongside I have quit smoking and alcohol consumption. Additionally added physical activity into my routine. Mostly cardio, some weight training. Miraculously my body has adapted very well to these changes and I feel better than ever. I do feel like I can shed 20 more pounds. But I have not been setting targets. I have adopted these changes as a way of life going forward. So I really have come to the conclusion that I do not need to aim for anything for set goals. As now I am convinced I am on the right path.
