Never too late to try something new!

I am a 61 years old post-menopausal woman who had her gallbladder removed at age 43. I always struggled with weight after my 30’s. That was odd because I weighed 110lbs all through my 20’s. After gallbladder surgery, I ballooned up to a hefty 250. I struggled with GERD, IBS, and joint pain. After menopause, I rocketed to 293. My doctor put me on cholesterol meds, high blood pressure meds, and Nexium. I had tried all of the corporate weight loss programs, dropping a few pounds, gaining them back when I stressed out over all the restrictions. I hated meetings, logging food, counting calories. I’m a teacher! It was just all too much. One day, a video popped up on my YouTube. Dr. Berg talking about some of the digestive issues I was having. I really liked his straightforward informative talk so I checked out a few more videos. I had always thought keto was like a caveman eat meat type of food plan. But as I watched a few more videos and did some research, I decided to give it one more try. After just two weeks of being on keto and incorporating intermittent fasting, I lost 5 lbs. ok…so far so good. After 1 month, I was down 15lbs and NOT ever hungry. After 3 months, I am down 33 lbs! And then I plateaued…aaaarrrrggghhh! I joined the 30-day challenge and I discovered some tweaks to my food plan and I also found I was doing a few things incorrectly. Just the daily reminders alone help keep me organized and excited even on a busy teacher’s schedule! Most of all I FEEL HEALTHY! I have more energy, more pep in my step. I know I’ve changed my life after following Dr. Berg’s keto and fasting plan. I look forward to becoming even more healthy and eventually reaching my goal weight of under 200lbs. At the end of this 30-day challenge, I believe I will have good food habits, a healthier life, and real weight loss!
