Eat for nutrition, not pleasure. Begin with that mindset.

This post is dedicated to my mother Lucy Melkonian who is suffering from diabetes-related illnesses and is currently in the hospital and to my son Nicholas “Nico” Melkonian who would not be here had I not begun my weight loss journey. Thank you to my beautiful wife for the years of support. Here’s my story... 2008 to 2018 410lbs+ to 199lbs My timeline: -December 2008 I had gastric bypass and got down to 225lbs in a year and a half and then the weight climbed again. - December 2012 I was back up to 275lbs and I had a lap band put in, the weight still climbed. -On 1/1/17 I was back up to 305lbs. Since 1/1/17 been on HEALTHY Keto. - 9/13/18 Finally hit my goal of 199lbs Bypass surgery didn’t stick Lap-band didn’t help or stick Keto is the only way for it to stick. Don’t waste your time, money and go under the knife. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done. I changed my life you can too. Here’s my daily routine: Armour thyroid medication 2 tablets Apple Cider Vinegar 2 tablets Sea Kelp 2 capsules of B Complex 1 capsule of Iron 1 Multi-Vitamin 2 capsules D3 w/ K2 (taken at least 4 hours away from Iron and spinach shake) 3 capsules of Dr. Berg cruciferous capsules 2 Scoops of Dr. Berg Electrolyte Powder 8 cups of spinach in a shake with 1 tbsp of flaxseed oil, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 1 Scoop of Dr. Berg Electrolyte Powder, Trace Minerals drops, Liquid Selenium and Liquid stevia for taste. I take the vitamins in the morning. 1-2 cups of homemade Bullet Proof Coffee Fast until lunch and start with my spinach shake. 2-3 hard-boiled eggs, 1-3oz of cheese, and 1/2 or whole avocado. After I’ve gotten in all my nutrition for the day I enjoy whatever foods I want for dinner that are Keto friendly. Very important to note: I’m almost all organic / non-GMO. Almost anything that goes in or on my body is organic or non-GMO. I can’t stress how important this is. All my vitamins, all my food, toothpaste, mouth wash, gum, shampoo, lotion, etc, etc, etc. Don’t put toxins in, only jet fuel! A few more points: - I had a personal trainer and/or worked out 3-5 days a week for almost all 10 years. It only really helped when I was in Ketosis. But I never stopped. - In my experience. It’s very important to come to the realization that it’s “Get healthy to lose weight”. Not “Lose weight to get healthy”. The weight loss didn’t stick until I cut the sugar and carbs and increased the nutrition as much as possible. Eat for nutrition, not pleasure. Begin with that mindset. The surgeries (especially the bypass) forced my body to go into Ketosis and become fat adapted (I didn’t know it then). I was taking a synthetic liquid multi-vitamin for years. But was still eating carbs/sugar (not knowing this is the culprit). When I started keto and then eventually got fat adapted again I recognized the feeling of running on fat and I watched/researched/followed as much Dr Berg as possible. I also now work in the Organic / Non-GMO industry and learned just how bad GMO products really are.
