Brian Dube's story
By: Brian Dube
Brian Dube is a genuine survivor who has dealt with more than just excess weight. Diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma in 2004, he underwent seven months of chemo and radiation. Dube bested this treacherous condition at last, but not without gaining unwanted pounds.
Throughout his 20s, Dube had loved playing sports, especially baseball and softball. So when his weight leveled off at around 250 pounds, he decided to do something to return to a fitter condition. Numerous diets and exercises failed for Dube. That’s when he found keto.
“Earlier this year my wife decided to try the ketogenic diet in an attempt to lose a little weight and encouraged me to try it with her,” explained Dube. “I was hesitant at first but [gave] it a try after doing a little homework myself. I decided to start April 1st of this year and haven't looked back.”
The mainstream media pummels society with carb and sugar temptations everywhere. “Everywhere you look there are sugar and candies and carbonated sodas and you have to fight the urge,” Dube said. But he promised himself to make the change and thanks to the support of his wife, kids, and coworkers, coupled with the wisdom he found in Dr. Berg’s videos, Dube now has more energy and more confidence in himself than ever before.
“Dr. Berg has helped me refine the way I eat and the vitamins and minerals I take throughout the day,” said Dube. “His knowledge of the ketogenic diet is a reason I come back and watch all of his new and old videos.”
Dube admits it was hard in the beginning. The biggest hurdle to overcome was the change in mindset. But given time, he’s sure that anyone can find the same success he’s had: since starting keto on April 1, 2018, Dube has gone from 245 to 190 pounds. “Dr.Berg has been a great help and influence for me on my ketogenic journey and [I] look forward to all of his new videos,” he says.
Favorite Way to Exercise: Started with cardio but now includes weight training. “[I] love the changes it has already started making in my body,” says Dube.
Favorite Keto Recipe: Dube has become a big fan of different kinds of mashed cauliflower. “It's very flexible like mashed potatoes and can be made to taste many different ways,” he says.
