Jessica Henderson|A work in progress
By: Jessica Henderson
Well, I started my journey to a healthier new me in October 2020 at 225lbs, it was time.
I always had issues with my weight since middle school and have done a lot of “FAD” diets. Yes, they worked but did I stick to them? Nope. I didn’t get serious until I felt the need was essential to my life. After seeing my (what I thought healthy) mother suddenly passed away from heart disease and to find out her weight contributed to her death, I knew it was time. Not just for me but for the family I have created.
So in October 2020, I made a vow to myself to come clean with my food addiction and treat my body right. Changing my relationship with food was a daunting task. But I managed to take into account EVERYTHING that entered my mouth.
By May 2021, I reached my goal weight of 150lbs and I feel better than ever. I’m still a work in progress because I have a different relationship with food and myself. You don’t just hit your goal weight and then return back to bad habits, it just doesn’t work like that. I have so much more life in me so much more energy, I’m not depressed and my kids say I act like I’m in my 20s, not my 40s.
Through my journey, I did keto strictly until goal weight and I now do dirty keto. I do OMAD every day and I also do a 48 hours fast with cardio. Results are obtainable it’s all in your mind, Train your mind, body, and soul to become one and love yourself and you too will be successful!!
