The left picture was probably my heaviest at over 300lbs. (I say over 300 because that’s as high the scale went, so who knows how far over 300lbs it was). The right picture was March 28th at 203lbs. I still have a way to go but learning how good this lifestyle is and how my body reacts to the food I give it is certainly a process. This is not a one-and-done diet or lifestyle. This will be my life from now on. There is more to weight loss than just losing fat. There is so much mental work to do as well or you can end up right back where you started. One of the things I’m working on right now is not thinking about the end goal and why I’m not there already. It took a lifetime of up and down dieting to get over 300lbs and it will be a lifetime to work on where I want to be.
Every day, every meal there are choices to make. Some I make great choices and some not so great. That doesn’t mean I’m not successful and I need to just give up. No, I just put the bad choices behind me and move on to the next meal and day. That’s where I have learned from past diets. There is no giving up because there is ALWAYS a new day to start fresh. I have no guilt or shame of my bad choices because there is always better choices to be made.
So I say all this to you who have done the diet route, only to give up when you mess up or give up too early because you don’t see any change. Don’t give up and give yourself grace. It’s so worth it. It won’t happen over night.
For those who are watching, please ask me any questions you may have. I’m an open book and would love to share my journey.
