Sometimes I average 10 lbs a month
By: Joshua (04/04/2018)
In January 2017 I hopped on the scale to see if I had gained weight from the holidays and was shocked by my weight; I had hit my all-time high of 272 lbs. I decided that it was time to make some changes and get healthy then and there. I started out with calorie restriction and running several days a week; I was eating about 1800 calories a day. I successfully lost about 18 to 20 lbs during the first half of the year and put a few back on when we went on vacation. About halfway through the year I discovered Intermittent Fasting on YouTube and became obsessed with researching it. Dr. Berg stood out as very knowledgeable and had a lot of great info, so he became one of my favorites right away (along with Thomas DeLauer and a few other YouTubers). I started to see amazing results, when I started skipping snacks and only eating twice a day. My work schedule prevents me from eating at normal times so I was eating around 9:00 am and 5:00 or 6:00 pm. By the late fall I had stopped counting calories and the weight was just falling off, sometimes as fast as 10 lbs a month. By the end of the year I had lost another 40 lbs and was down a total of 60 lbs in one year (while working in fast food I might add). After New Years I started a new eating schedule and now eat when I get off work around 3:30 pm and have supper at 6:00 pm or so and snacks as late as 9:30 pm. I have also stated going harder towards eating low carbs, but have not gone completely keto. I find that I’m not even that hungry going long periods of time without eating, and I actually enjoy huge salads and vegetables, and other low carb choices. I am down just over 70 lbs total, hovering around 200 lbs currently and still losing slowly, and I feel amazing. Thank you Dr Berg for your amazing YouTube channel.
