I didn’t begin to struggle with serious weight gain until I hit my 40’s. I gained more than 50lbs going up from 130 to 183lbs and I quit weighing myself. In 2012, I started doing CICO by logging all my food and working out on the treadmill for 60-90 minutes 5 days a week. I lost the weight but I didn’t feel healthier. My heart raced all the time, I had to continue my high blood pressure medicine and my cholesterol numbers were not good with low HDL and high Triglycerides. The effort of logging my foods daily, keeping my calories under 1,200 a day and having to constantly do long sessions of cardio was unsustainable and I quit doing it. All the weight came back in under 6 months. I tried again to lose weight by this same method in 2016 but the same thing happened. I didn’t keep up with it and I still felt bad physically. In April 2017, I decided to go low carb and I began to lose some weight with little effort. I did no exercise except occasionally walking on my lunch breaks. I got stuck with my weight loss and began searching for answers. In January 2018, I found Dr. Berg’s videos on YouTube and started incorporating the information he shares and went Keto by keeping my daily carbs under 20 a day. In July, I watched some videos by Dr. Berg on Intermittent Fasting and incorporated 16:8 daily. Adding IF to Keto has made losing weight and getting healthy very easy. I don’t have to count calories, log my food, or do extreme cardio any longer and the weight keeps coming off. Best of all my overall health has improved dramatically. I no longer have to take blood pressure medicine, my heart rate is normal, no longer races, my blood sugars are in normal range, my cholesterol and liver enzymes are all good now. I’ve lost a total of 46lbs so far and feel great.I ’ve gone from a size 14 to a size 4 now. I turned 50 this year and I’m looking forward to many healthy years ahead. This is a way of life for me now and I’m very grateful I found Dr. Berg. It’s a life changer.
