"May 2018 I weighed in at 181 lbs; I stand at 5’7. Last May I had a series of strokes in a week; the sign was a problem with my speech. At the same time, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. The paperwork given to me by my primary doctor was from the American Diabetes Association. The example menus were ridiculous; the way they suggested I eat was the way I had been eating (minus the 7 cokes a day). I found dr Berg and Dr. Fung on YouTube. My problem started with a crappy diet and I realized it needed to be fixed with diet. I lost 46 lbs in less than 5 months. Everyone was saying I was too thin (nobody ever told me that in my life!). I gained back approximately 8-10 lbs back slowly over the last 5-6 months. I was on metformin, blood pressure meds, and cholesterol meds. I went from A1C 8.4 to 5.9; I’m off metformin for 6 months. Blood pressure has stabilized and I’m no longer taking those meds. I take 1/4th of the original cholesterol meds now; however, I don’t believe I need it at all; triglycerides went from 325 to between 40-77. My good and bad cholesterol are good also. The Keto diet makes sense to me; it really works. I cheat here and there but I’ve managed to keep my weight between 141-146lbs. My sugar is better than normal people now, but in the mornings it can run a little high for fasting mode 120-135., but 2 hours after I eat, it’s strange but my sugar goes down to 105-115 and it doesn’t matter what I eat, even a slice of pizza with the occasional coke. One question I have is about “liver dump”. I was fasting for a day when about 5:00 pm I checked my sugar and it was extremely high (180s). My sugar hadn’t been that high in fasting mode ever. I looked it up online and it gave me info on liver dump. Can you explain this more? Anyway, I’ll send pix."
