I am happy to report that I am currently at 173 lbs and have been medicine free for 5 months with no signs of my UC.

My husband and I started our journey on September 25th, 2017. I remember that date because it is one day before our anniversary. :) He had approached me and said that he wanted to start the Wheat Belly diet and I said I would help him stick with it, but I wasn't sold on the whole thing. I agreed that wheat needed to be removed from our diets, but I didn't buy into everything the doctor was saying. I started doing Keto research as a family member had suggested we try it over a year earlier. I found Dr. Berg's videos and things just started to click in my head and make sense. I wanted to heal my body not mask the issues. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2010 and since then my meds were slowly increased due to the severity of my symptoms. I was currently on the highest dose possible and had been reporting kidney pain to my doctors. Unfortunately they had no answers for me except to "keep doing what you are doing." That answer was not good enough for me. The intermittent fasting was easy for me to do. I was use to eating very little each day, which was interesting since I was weighing in at 225 lbs. I am coming up on my one year anniversary of starting this lifestyle change (and it IS a lifestyle change not a diet) and I am happy to report that I am currently at 173 lbs and have been medicine free for 5 months with no signs of my UC.
