Eric Danver's Story
By: Eric Danver
In 2015, Eric Danver decided he was “sick and tired of being sick and tired.” Sparked by his grandmother’s passing, something inside encouraged him to think sincerely about the way he was living his life. “I was overweight, breathing heavily doing simple tasks, and lacked confidence in myself,” he said.
Danver had suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction until 2014 and was proud of what he had overcome so far. But he knew there were other areas of his life where he could improve.
“I decided I would try to start running and change the way that I ate,” he said. “My father has been into fitness my whole life and I saw the way he ate and thought I had some good knowledge on dieting and lifting weights.”
After deciding to make this change, Danver lost 60 pounds (27 kg) and started feeling better about himself. He was going to the gym six times per week. He ate six small meals per day, intending to continue losing, but eventually his weight loss wouldn’t budge any further.
“I was hungry all the time. I had to leave places I was at so that I wouldn’t miss my meals,” he said. “I felt good but I was working too hard for the results I wanted and still was not where I wanted to be.” That’s where Dr. Berg came in.
Danver stumbled upon Dr. Berg’s “How to Burn Fat” video and thought it made a lot of sense. “He broke everything down and it was the total opposite of everything I had heard about diet and fitness prior,” Danver said. He only wishes he had found Dr. Berg when he originally wanted to lose weight.
Since he discovered keto it’s been easy for Danver to maintain the lifestyle. From Dr. Berg he learned to only eat when hungry. He found Dr. Berg’s videos to be incredibly encouraging. “I was getting results from everything he was saying,” said Danver.
Now he feels like a whole new person. His wife agrees, saying: “I got a whole new man. Well actually, I lost one—I had two before!” After the initial 60-pound weight loss from his own efforts, Danver was able to shed another 60 pounds using keto.
He reports more energy, focus, and mental clarity, saying he always feels satisfied by his food. He has noticed more muscle definition. “I have continued doing keto,” he said. “It has been a way of life for me.”
