I was a typical slave to modern diets including lots of bread, meat, very low fat. I also eat and craved junk food. I went on a keto diet 2 or 3 times without success.

My body was fighting it, I had a poor approach to eating mostly cheese and meat (not recommended, you need plants as well). Until I read Mark Sisson's book Primal Blueprint, I had little or no success.

In the meantime, I subscribed to Dr. Eric Berg's Youtube channel and it helped me a lot to understand the metabolism of sugar. If you are eating a healthy balanced ketogenic diet, which includes green vegetables, avocado, fish, meat, cheese, eggs, and my favorite flax flour pastry, you will see tremendous results.

I believe it boils down to the fact, that when you go on a ketogenic diet, you basically unclog your hormonal system, bring your insulin levels down, and allow the body to function on fat.

If your insulin is constantly high, you are basically starving your cells of nutrients while storing most of the sugar as fat. I highly recommend everybody to detox from sugars for at least a month then judge whether you can go without carbs or not.

I found out that I basically had an addiction to wheat sourced foods. Just removing wheat without any exercise, removed 4kg of fat from my body.
