The biggest thing to keep in mind when you are in pain is to remember that the pain is not the problem, but rather the symptom of a larger underlying condition. This is why it is helpful to know a technique that you can use on yourself and others that can help you to deal with this pain once and for all.

You may want to start by rating the person's pain. This will help you have something to compare to afterwards so you can see the benefit that it has given them. Then rub the opposite side from where the pain is. The best way to do this is to think about the mirror opposite of where the pain is, and this will be where you rub them.

There are multiple places where this opposite could be, especially if the pain is shooting, but you may rub it for a couple of minutes and the pain should be relieved or at least reduced from what it originally was. The point though is not to rub the side that hurts as this is not the most effective way to get rid of the pain.

The nice thing about this is that it can be done on any part of the body. You can press on the opposite side of the gum area on the cheek for when you are suffering from a toothache.

The reason this works is because the body does not like pain and will try to avoid it. By doing this, the connection to the pain is lost. When this signal is lost, the pain will no longer be felt by the person. When it hurts on the front of the body, just remember to work on the back.
