Keto Fried Chicken Recipe
This recipe is amazing, and it's completely keto-friendly. We use organic chicken, which we recommend. This keto recipe is super simple and so tasty. The chicken is marinated in buttermilk overnight and tossed in spices that give it a nice kick. It's so hard to find a fried chicken recipe without the wheat breading, but this is it. If you love fried chicken, this keto recipe is for you. You're going to love it.
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs of Organic chicken (drumsticks, tenders, breasts, etc).
2 ½ cups unflavored whey protein powder
2 Liters of avocado oil
4 Eggs
2 ½ Cups of buttermilk
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp white pepper
½ tsp rosemary powder
½ tsp sage
1 ½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp celery seed powder
1 tsp mustard powder
2 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp oregano
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp thyme
INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix together all your spices and set aside half of the mixture.
In a large bowl, add your buttermilk, beaten eggs, half of the spice mixture, and mix together. Add your chicken to the bowl and make sure it’s coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
In a medium bowl, mix together the whey protein powder and the rest of your spices.
In a large pot, heat a few inches of oil to 350 degrees (making sure to not go over 350).
Take the chicken from the buttermilk, coat in the whey/spice mixture, and place in the oil. Cooking time will vary depending on which cut of meat you choose, but make sure the internal temperature is at least 165 degrees.
Remove from the oil and let rest on a plate with a paper towel and serve soon after, with your favorite keto sauce!
